Sony TC-765 Stereo Reel To Reel Recorder Tape Deck, Estate sale find. Great Shape, powers up and motor works and dual capstans move. No other tests were preformed.Being a complex unit with high cost of shipping it is sold as-is without warranty or returns.
The Sony TC-765 was a 3 head, quarter-track, consumer version of the semi-professional half-track
TC 766-2
and as such, did not have the higher speed of 15 ips. The TC 765 runs at 3¾ & 7½ ips powered by an AC servo controlled motor in a closed-loop dual-capstan drive.
Features included:
three heads,
three motors,
logic control,
and an optional RM-30 remote control.
Switching was provided for selecting low, medium and high bias, and different tape types, normal, special, FeCr etc.
