Description
Up for auction is a Unknown Year/Mint Silver Rupeecoin from State of INDORE - INDIA PRINCELY STATES.
Don't know much about these coins so I have to apologize for the lack of information in the description. Can't give you silver content or the year or mint. Also can't give the KM # or the Y #. The Princely State of Indore was a part of central India. Indore State originated in 1728 with a grant of land north of the Narbada river by the Maratha Peshwa of Poona to Malhar Rao Holkar, a cavalry commander in his service. After his death, the daughter-in-law along with Tukoji Rao ruled the state until her death 30 years later. Then Tukoji Rao's son took over and defeated the Maratha Peshwa in 1802. He got badly beaten by a contingent under Lord Lake. This is a nice coin and would be a wonderful addition for any collector!
The coin is in a VERY NICE circulated condition.
