Description

New-manufacture capstan idler cores to fit your old Ampex capstan idler assembly. Includes shim washers and fresh retainer clip.
Made to original Ampex factory specifications.

Note that this is JUST THE CORE. It is made from aluminum with a nitrile (buna-N) synthetic rubber surface of approximately 65 durometer.
Clean the rubber occasionally with ethyl alcohol.
You will need to transfer the following parts from your old idler assembly:
dust cap
capstan shaft
felt oil washer
dust-cap spring
shims (if needed)
These are made from fresh precision-ground
nitrile/Buna-N synthetic rubber
on a computer-manufactured aluminum core with a fresh bronze bearing.  Size is 2" diameter by 1.25" tall to pull
ONE INCH
tape.
