Description
circa 1920s Clamp Arm from a Woodworking Panel Clamp system- the unit is made of heavy cast and strap steel -- this measures 54 1/2 in. long overall and the clamp opens from about 18 in. to about 45 in. with a 2 1/2 by 4 in. pad
-- manufactured by one of the Pioneers of the clamping industry, Black Brothers of Mendota, Illinois
: this was likely what was held in their famous revolving clamp holding machine patented in 1919, which is probably what the heavy hook on this is used for -

moderate rust and wear from use -- everything moves and feels pretty tight -- sliding clamp is more or less hard to move /the spring return on the sliding clamp, may or may not be working well -- unit needs cleaning and lubrication before being put back into service
